As the military backed Obama into a corner?

The military has let it be known to the public that about 40,000 more troops are needed in Afghanistan. I believe they did this knowing that Obama's base would be very strongly against any increase in troops. So if Obama fails to follow his military advisors and we lose Afghanistan, Obama will be blamed for the loss.

Why? We have over 150,000 on our side anyway. (That's not including the U.S.)

Obama met with the General asking for more troops , which says to me he is very serious about what our troops need .The republicans are trying to get him to rush into something without great thought for the country.I am sure he will give what ever is needed. If Mccain was the pres. he would have done nuked .

anyone who has a small amount of knowledge of american history would know general Westmoreland did the same in vietnam and what disaster that was
iraq is the republican vietnam

More troops in Afghanistan has been needed since the start of the war according to the military.

To answer your question, I don't think Obama is in a corner. Bush, Obama, and the next president will be blamed for any loss we have.

I'm a liberal who voted for Obama knowing that sending more troops to Afghanistan was part of his platform. I know absolutely nothing about war, except that being part of Obama's base doesn't mean your agaisnt sending more troops in.

My only dispute is that I have no faith in President Karzi being any better than the Taliban, especially since he rigged this last election.
