Right lose it's power?
Of course there are Christians on the left, but the fundamentalists rely on the bigotry and prejudice that comes from ignorance.
Billaryboy, you do know that Leornard Cohen is Jewish don't you, and now a practicing buddhist of 20 years?
Yes bigotry. Xenophobia, Homophobia, spreading of blatant lies about competeing religions and much more besides.. All hallmarks of the funamentalist Christian Right Wing. Interference in the right of people to pursue happiness as they see fit, without deference to someone elses bible.

The internet provides more global education and information? Depends on the web site. From there, you have to research to see if there is a reputable, trusted source. Anyone can create a website and post any information they please and call it 'fact'.

Are there no Christians on the left? LOL

Sometimes I wish I was so simple minded. Damn, it hurts sometimes.

Gavin. Their beliefs don't come from ignorance or bigotry. It comes from the 1st Amendment. I don't agree with them but I will defend their right to believe as they do.

If you want to change the way they believe I don't think calling them names will help your cause. Try educating them to why you believe as you do. No one like name calling.

When you say 'Christian Right lose its power' you lost me. Civilizations were founded on Christianity. It was revolutionary. Historically violence came from people who were very opposed to Christianity, for example those who follow the Talmud. Take a look at Cohen's Hallelujah - its not about men and women, its more about the relationship between us and God. Bathsheba may have been destined from Creation to become David’s legitimate wife in time, but by acting so wickedly he betrayed Gods trust. In the beginning we had fellowship with him. When we stopped communing with God we broke it, hence the broken Hallelujah.

I wouldnt call Christians voice power, but the internet only makes it bigger. The internet makes more oppurtunities for educatings others in Christianity as much as the internet offers more oppurtunity for porn.
But the internet, tv, are all distractions from God.

You are confusing power with influence the "Christian Right" does not desire power, only influence. That won't diminish considering most of the developing world derives their knowledge from "Christian Right" affiliates; it's all around you if you look.

You're the one who sounds like a bigot. If they were xenophobic they wouldn't be helping the poor. "As they see fit"- you mean lacking of moral truths, and self restraint? A life which serves itself and not its fellow man is wasted.

I'm Christian and I'm conservative. I'm fairly certain you're stereotyping me before educating yourself on the difference between someone like myself and a knee-jerk social conservative. So, maybe you should check out that concept of education yourself. Your anti-American posts are a wee bit annoying. They make me miss Alan Colmes.

Colmes bless! *lol*
