Seriously, I think it's all hype but people are buying it and even Congress has talked about it. I was at the Apple store today and there was a large crowd of people around the iPhones the entire time I was there.
 
I think the people that fork over huge amounts of money for it are silly.

But then I think pretty much anyone that has a smartphone or blackberry is just as silly. And I think the iphone haters are jealous

Good to see that you are indeed paying attention to all the media marketing hype though. Those ad campaigns cost millions.

on the other hand....I'll agree with you...the whole 'tablet' concept is gaining momentum. Have you seen the promo-video for the Microsoft 'surface'

It's like a touch screen plasma TV that restaurants/bars can use as a table...or as a boardroom-conference table.
