can you tell me about 2 of them?


a. How do the main characters in each story view luck?

* Do they trust it?
* What do they hope to gain by it?
* How much do they rely on it for happiness?
* How does one "get" luck?
* Is luck symbolized in any form? (e.g. horseshoe?)

b. In what way is luck "good" in each story?
c. In what way is luck "bad" in each story?
d. Pick the most important or revealing quotation that a character gives about luck.
e. What is the overall message about luck as it relates to happiness in the story?
 
yes to all of them- The Lottery is about a town who draws from a hat to see who gets beaten up for the crimes that have taken place that week. For example: if someone is killed- the killer isn't punished, it's just decided by picking a name out of a hat. >_< very VERY disturbing.
The Monkey's paw is about a man who gets ahold of a magical monkey paw- he is given 3 wishes. He and his wife are driven crazy by the literal outcome of their wishes- one wish ending up with thier son dying and coming back to life on their door step all ...icky looking from being dead so long.
-first one- they fear the chance of getting their name drawn-
second one- the man sees the monkey paw as a gift and then a horrid curse. He hopes to gain riches.
However- you know you should just read the stories- they take like 5 min. max. do your own hw!
