As an Alltel customer, when can I buy the HTC Droid Incredible?

Ok first off, the whole May 29 thing means that if you order today, it will ship by May 29 (but probably sooner). Second, I would recommend going into a Verizon store or calling customer service and seeing if you are one of the customers that will be converted to Verizon, and if so, if you are a Verizon customer already. If so, you can get the Incredible IF you or another line on the account are eligible to upgrade
 
Here's what I know:

1. "Due to high demand, this device will ship by 5/29"
2. "it will be several months before Alltel customers become Verizon Wireless customers"
3. I purchased a 2 year plan mid summer 2009 from Alltel
4. I will not want to purchase this phone if I have to wait a year to get it because by that time, something better will be out. I also don't want it If I have to cancel my 2 year plan and pay seaveral hundred dollars to do it.

So based on my previous statements, what advice/information can you give me for purchasing the HTC Droid Incredible come May 29th.
