I've been there and wore the tee shirt for Muslims and Christians. It's very difficult to try to explain how a person feels when they are devout believer's and suddenly see how deceptive the whole thing is. It really is amazing how people will believe in something because so many others do, because it seems right, without proof or thinking critically for themselves. We are far more complex as human beings for that. And in that respect, I feel we are made out of something more than our own intelligence. More beyond our own limited reasoning. As an Agnostic, I certainly believe in a God, but which one remains to be known. Good luck on your journey and i hope you get freedom from it.

Don't spend all your time trying to convince people of the "evils" of religion. That's just needy.

If you do, then ask yourself: "Why aren't I in the holiday section trying to convince people that the Easter Bunny doesn't exist, or Santa, or any such?"

Because they are imaginary.

If you really believe that, let religion go, let religious people go, just let it go.

The people who are constantly bashing religion are the pseudo-atheists who have built their beliefs (yes, they have a belief, that "god does not exist" despite having no proof, so they have come to believe he does not exist, rather than simply dismiss the idea, like unicorns) into part of their self-image, and feel attacked by anything contrary to that belief.
For them, Darwinism is a fact writ in stone and and disbelief in it is a sin.

For scientists (not busy rolling their eyes at such behavior), Evolution is a theory, well-supported but not totally proven (no theory is), and always open to question (like all science), and religion/God is not their purview.

Let it go. Live a rich life. You don't know nobody is up there. You don't know somebody is. THAT'S an atheist. It's a non-issue, like Cthulhu.
