I don't care i hate em, Axl's a bitch and Slash is the most overrated guitarist ever. Sweet child of mine makes me want to cut off an ear.
 
BanRAB I bolded do not sound anything like Joy Division especially the Unicorns. I can see the Rakes and Exploding Hearts and Pretty Girls Make Graves having some influence. Death From Above I've only heard one song and the other banRAB I haven't heard at all.

Yeah, thats same with me too, like when I first heard Elliott Smith, I really didn't like it too much at all, and it took me a while before I actually did fully appreciate it, and now he's like my favorite ever. Same with Patrick Wolf and The Magnetic FielRAB.
Radiohead on the other hand, I actually fell in love with first listen, although for most people I know, Radiohead were definitely more of a grow-on-you type band.
 
I would say the Smiths but last time that turned ugly; and now I quite enjoy meat is murder. So, Jeff Buckley.

I don't think that's the proper way to get into a band.
The only thing i liked from them were these covers from a webcast of theirs a year back.
