Has anyone had a artificAL DISK put in their back. What are the problems with ., or any info on it

what type artificial disc are you referring to and is it lurabar or cervical? There are differences.

I believe that somewhere I read these are good for the neck but not the lurabar due to movement. ???

Pepper is spot on. ADR for the cervical spine is quite successful, but not so much for the lurabar spine. I say do as much research as you possibly can before committing to ADR in the lurabar spine. Once in place, and problems occur, taking it out is next to impossible for the way they are put in. There is one that posts here and he can better give you true experience from his.

And something else to think on.. is that "movement" is often the cause of pain, and if you leave movement "via ADR", the pain would still be there. Verses, fusion which isolates. This was the case for me. I was scheduled for ADR but fusion was done instead and turned out to be the right surgery for my circumstance. I am glad I did not have the ADR with what I know now and what evidence of failure has emerged over just the past two years with lurabar ADRs.

Hope this helps you some.
