Arthur Season 11

Update: Tomorrow morning (July 5, 2007) the Chicago PBS Kids station will air "Phony Fern/Brain's Shocking Secret" and on Friday afternoon (July 6, 2007) a 2 hour marathon of the second, third, fourth, and fifth Season 11 Arthur episodes will air on that same PBS Kids station.

I used to watch this back in middle school, but eventually stopped after my family got cable and I started watching toonami and whatnot. I can't believe it's still going, though. Do all the characters still have the same voice actors?

Most of the Arthur cartoon voice cast has been with the show since Season 1 in 1996. Only there have been voice changes for voice actors/voice actresses for Arthur, D.W., Sue Ellen, Brain, George, Tommy Tibble, Timmy Tibble, Vicita Molena, Rattles, Pal, Emily, and James MacDonald during the 11 seasons.

I finally got to see "Buenas Noches, Vicita/Prunella Packs It In" and "Phony Fern/Brain's Shocking Secret" recently (and I saw "Baby Kate - Imaginary Mystery/Strangers on a Train"), especially with Vicita spoofing Dora the Explorer with an African folk tale, Fern and George spoofing an Agatha Christie mystery, Fern's new cell phone, the first appearance of Fern's father, Nadine now becoming Baby Kate's imaginary friend instead of D.W.'s, Brain being called "Stomach", and even Prunella now has her last name revealed - Prunella Deegan!

I sure can't wait for the other Season 11 Arthur episodes to air September 3-7, 2007 with an episode where Binky adopts an orphan girl from China and an episode spoofing "Postcards from Buster" with guest voice Matt Damon.

Also: For season 11, the "Word From Us Kids" mid show segment is now replaced by a "Postcards from You" mid show segment.

Add 2 more Arthur episodes with no Arthur appearance to the list for Season 11 besides "Mind Your Manners":
* "Prunella Packs It In"
* "Strangers on a Train"

The remaining 5 Season 11 Arthur episodes aired on PBS Kids this past Labor Day week, including an episode with guest voice Matt Damon, a takeoff of "Dancing with the Stars" where Francine and George take part in a dance class and enter a dance competition, a Halloween episode where D.W. gets hiccups, a Thanksgiving episode where Francine copies something off the internet for a report, the much hyped "D.W. on Ice" episode, and an episode where Binky's family adopts a baby girl while on vacation in China.

And George (the moose boy) has a new last name: Lundgren instead of Nordgren.

11 Seasons is darned good for any cartoon that isn't on FOX or South Park.

I was weaned on the Marc Brown books (and the interactive CD version of Arthur's Teacher Trouble. God Bless LIVING B(o)(o)KS), which whetted my appetite for the show when it debuted (I was in 1st/2nd grade when it first came on).
