Arthur, Cailou, Huckle, Doodlebops, Johnny Test Headline Cookie Jar's 2009 Fall Slate

What? Wasn't Cookie Jar ready to fork over like 150 millions to OUTRIGHT BUY the properties? The article mentions Strawberry Shortcake no? That was also part of the deal alongside Care Bear so it has to have go through.

Either way...congrats on Cookie Jar for keeping strong. I'd like some new properties though >.> or now that the whole Robinson Sucroe debacle is done maybe release it on DVD darnit! I loved that show!

IMO, the show is abysmal and its the characters that make the show worse.
The plot lines are amazingly generic, they've been done a million times on other tv shows ad nauseum. The characters are really bland, really don't have personalities of their own and they're just downright cliche (whoa, is that dog talking? That's so cutting edge!).
But what really sends this show spiralling down the gutter is its use of Flash animation. I have nothing against Flash (I use it myself!) but if you're going to animate in Flash, at least make it look good. We have all these wonderfully-animated Flash cartoons like Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, Superjail, and latter seasons of Harvey Birdman, why can't the animators from Johnny Test take lessons from those guys?

But yes, that's the end of my...erm....statement, so, uh, yeah, Johnny Test is awful.

I read about another season of Johnny Test last year...on this very forum, in fact, but after 3 seasons, I really don't see what else can be done with Test. Since the "JX5" episode had all of the eye marks of being a series finale (that contained a HUGE plot hole that was never once touched upon), I'm not optimistic, as it's been proven by the return of Dexter's Laboratory post "Last, but not Beast", when most series come back after "ending", they're usually pretty bad, and Test wasn't a great show to begin with.

There a few things I'd like to see them do with Test, but they most likely won't:
  • I'd like to see a little more of Lila Test this upcoming season, as she's one of my favorite characters on the show. (Any working mom who can take down a giant wrestler is OK in my books.)
  • I'd like to see Susan and Mary get their own episode.
  • I'd like to see Mary Test get a little more appreciation this time around. I never thought it was fair that Susan has a running shtick of her own (her trying to avoid Eugene) and Mary doesn't. Hopefully that situation will be rectified in season 4.
  • I'd like to see Johnny be made less of a generic knucklehead this time around (actually, I'd really like for them to dump Johnny and make Dukey and the twins the stars of the show, but I know that won't happen), as I find the title character to be an albatross dragging down his own show. But that's just me.
