arthroscopic surgery for labral tear

My guess is that it takes time to heal after the surgery and that is the cause of the pain. Tendon repair and healing takes time, and this isn't easy surgery that you had. I think normal healing is 4-6 weeks before you can attempt lifting or any type of physical activity.

I think that your degree of pain is also related to how much work they had to do to attach the labrum back to the rim of the bone....all of these things would play into your pain level. If your docotor gave you meds for the pain...take them.

good luck with your healing. If you think that you are having excessive amounts of pain, contact your surgeons office.

i would have to agree with IB&P up there. how long ago was your surgery done? are we talking days, weeks, months?? it does matter. FB

I had labrum surgery back in January of 09 and was experiencing pain back in early December. From the people I've talked to, this is rather common. I was worried myself, I mean, 11 months after surgery and I was still in pain but I'm happy to say there isn't any pain any more!
