These are not mutually excusive.

The laser is the tool while the method of entry can be endoscopic or arthroscopic (or an open surgery). If you are considering a surgery ask the doctor for the full type/name of the recommended procedure

SpineAZ told you right.

Artroscopic is one way of approaching spine, and laser is one surgery possibility.

Thanks for the info.

I am seeing a new PM dr. right now. My 2nd visit is next week. He is supposed to look at my tests/MRI/bone scan and see if he thinks surgery is necessary.

Since no one can say for sure where my pain is coming from (I have ddd, osteoarthritis, bone spurs, annular tears, & mild scoliosis) I was hoping to have arthroscopic surgery -------I had it on my shoulder a coupld years ago. It just sounRAB like a great way to see what is going on and maybe/hopefully fix some problems.

I have been reading a lot about surgeons using arthroscopy to take out bone spurs that are pinching nerves.

I am just looking for a way out of this pain. It has gradually gotten worse over the past 6 or 7 years. I am on such heavy duty meRAB and still have some HORRIFIC stabbing/burning pain when I walk or stand for longer than a few minutes.

Sorry to get carried away. Again THANK YOU for the answer!!!!
