Art homework - ideas?

For our art homework we have to create an imaginative portrait page using Sabrina Ward Harrison type art work for inspiration.
I have taken a look at her work, but I don't really like it and am finding it difficult to use for ideas.
Do you know any other similar artists, ideas or good imaginative creative pages?
Help is very much appreciated.

She works using simple base colours, some text, simple line drawings, naive style, hotch-potch presentation.

I suggest cutting out a figurative image from a newspaper or magazine, then cutting that up, copying and pasting it, mixing other simple images in as well, then changing portions of the picture using your computer, to see what you get!
