the butterfly effect

i joined the army and im in the DEP. but i REALLY wish i didn't join the army. i wish i'd looked into the navy instead. if i don't join the army i'm being kicked out... our finances are too low to support me. now my boyfriend of 3 years is proposing that we get married and join the navy together. which honestly sounds perfect. but.... if i do that i won't have anything to go back to if something goes wrong. so i guess what i'm saying is... if you were in my shoes would you do the safe thing that you don't want to do... or take a risk on something you want think you can trust, knowing that if something goes wrong you're f*cked.
