I am looking at joining a service but am at an impasse on which route to go. Each has their own strengths. I have talked to recruiters for both but am not sure which offers the best opportunity.
Details:
- I have two college degrees and an MBA so I am looking at going to officer training school.
- Scored an 82 on the ASVAB
- Single, athletic male
- 24 years old
Ok, so the army's program to pay off my student loans is really playing strong into my decision since I have roughly 40k of debt. Is the USAF worth not getting the full student loan payment? I want to be around aviation, but really don't know what route to take. Also the Army recruiter is pushing going enlisted, is that something I should consider?
I have researched a ton and know what I'm doing, but the challenge is seeing what presents the best opportunity career wise, financially, and for my personal life. I originally went into the process thinking USAF was best but getting out from underneath the debt really is hard to ignore.
Both recruiters have been impressed with all our interviews and testing, but I don't want to waste their time while I'm not sure whats best for me. So I turn to you guys for expertise, please give me honest opinions. Thanks in advance.
