I am joining the Army as a 37f E4. I told my recruiter I won't be able to leave until late August. He doesn't seem to care and he is making me go to MEPS in 4 days so he can ship me out this month. Is there anyway I can get him to delay this? He doesn't really seem interested when I tell him my summer class doesn't end till late August.

You already join...So go already....Sometimes you have to sacrafice . Jobs outside are not good.

If you have not yet been sworn in you have no reason to go to MEPS in 4 days, and the recruiter has no authority to force you. If you have been sworn in (and that is done only at the MEPS) you may have some obligation to go, but can refuse and work it out later. Your not governed by the UCMJ until after you do your oath as an active duty member. Good luck, I know some recruiters are more pushy that others and some are less honest too.

Just tell him loud and clear military men are a bit more used to being shouted at so it takes them a while to get the message clear if someone is not yelling it at them...but just tell him every time you meet, send him a text, a tweet, an email, give him a phone call or even a smoke signal until he doesn't get the message. Military men can be pushy I know my father is one you just have to be just as stubborn but my advise do it a bit respectfully you don't want him to be angry cause you won't like him when he is angry!!! Best of luck!!! P.S. I hope you realize what being in the military means if they call you to Afghanistan you'll have to take human life and once you take human life there is no going back...
