I am 16 years old and plan to enlist in the Army at the age of 18. After basic, im going to get my Advanced Training in Infantry. After that i'll go to Airborne school. I am wondering that after that i can go to Ranger School immediately or if i have to be a certain rank to go to Ranger School.

It's almost unheard of for a soldier to make it to Ranger School right after Basic. Which means that I have never actually heard of it. Ranger School is generally offered to soldiers after they've spent some time in the Army and are either an NCO, Officer or getting ready to promote to NCO. Even Rangers in the Ranger Battalions have to prove themselves before being allowed to go to Ranger School. Getting Airborne is putting you on the right track. You may even be able to get into a Ranger Battalion if you so desire. But you'll have to earn the school while there and that isn't easy to do. Good-luck

Any Army Recruiter can answer those questions call one on the phone when you get home from school tomorrow.

You may be eligible to serve in the Ranger Regiment after completing Infantry and Airborne training through an Option 40 enlistment contract, however, Ranger school positions are usually reserved for people who have at least a couple years in service and are deemed "ready".
