Army Ranger Option 40?

I am going to be taking the California High School Proficiency Exam this October and I am curious to know if passing that will allow me to enlist with an Option 40 contract.
What caused my doubts is that I've been hearing that I need to log an additional 15 semester hours. Can somebody please give me some insight?

So I would indeed have to log those additional 15 hours, no?
 
If you have a highschool diploma then you qualify for the Army. I think you need a 110 as a GT score to go Ranger but If you ask for a Ranger option they will give it to you.
If you have a GED then you would need 15 credit hours to join any branch.
Howeve the Army accepts GED's for a few months every year.
