Ok, so I will be turning 18 in about 2 months and am wanting to join the military Delayed Entry Program. The only problem is that I am having trouble deciding between the Army and the Marine Corps. I am not in the best of shape (195lbs/6'3"), but have lost 30 lbs since I was 15 and am hoping to lose another 20 or so before boot camp/basic (which I won't leave for another 10 months). I currently have a brother who is in the Marine Corps in Afghanistan, and he has told me that he loves it (he's a rifleman). So as of now I am leaning towards the Marine Corps. One thing I don't like about the Army is how they try to sell you in (all's the recruiters do is talk about bonuses you can get!), but at the same time I also realize they offer me many more choices! I DO like the fact that the Marines have better training for the most (I am NOT talking about Special Forces), and they are considered more elite for the most part.
Here's what I want to do in the Marine Corps:
1)Infantry (maybe long term Scout/Sniper)
2)Field Arty
3)Combat Engineer
4) Cavalry
Heres what I would like to do in the Army:
1) Ranger
2)Airborne Infantry
3)Stryker Infantry
4)Air Assault Infantry
5)Cavalry
Any ideas on which I should choose? I dont want anyone just saying something like "Army, because they offer you more money!" or "Marine Corps, because they are awesome!"
