...career?????????????????????????? I am going to join the National Guard. I am going to be MOS 35M (Human Intelligence Collector) and then become a 35L (Counterintelligence Agent). I plan on enlisting on a 6-8 year contract. When I am done in the National Guard I would like to join the FBI but it says that to qualify for Military experience I need:

Military Experience
To qualify for the Military Critical Skill, a candidate must possess two years of substantial, full-time work experience in the military.

How many years of NG does it take to qualify for that? I am going Guard because I am going to go to school as well to get my Bachelors degree (Also required to work with the FBI) and the Military will give me a better chance at getting into the FBI. Do deployments (and just being "Activated") count as full time if you are in the Guard?

Since you'll be a weekend warrior like myself there is one of two ways to accomplish this.

First one is to just serve your full enlistment in which you will be doing your job and get the required time in the field.

The second doesn't provide you as much of guarantee(experience wise). A deployment would give you the quickest time experience you need but when you deploy you almost always end up doing another job besides your own (and you will deploy whether you like it or not).

Time away counts as Active Duty Years which is different from Guard years. But you still need both for a good Military Service Year. They all count towards retirement.
