Army MOS 11X dont let them screw you?

When you sign up for infantry they sign you up as 11X and tell they do a volunteer basis for 11C or 11B. It's bullshXX. They would never have any 11C that way. When you get to basic they will tell you what you are and there is nothing you can do to change it. If you reup you can switch, but you lose your bonus.Believe me I spent months upon months trying to switch to 11B. However your contract is not final until your final swear in before you leave. So if you need to change it do before your swear in and dont let them tell you no. Remember their job is to fufill the needs of the army not yours. Your just a another number to them. Also make sure you get a gaunteed duty station or you might get stuck in Ft Polk or Alaska

For someone who is just past being a DEP, you are sure full of wrong advice.

I agree that 11X is an enlistment only MOS, but telling young men to insist on 11B or nothing is ensuring a DEP-Loss, as the Counselors at MEPS cannot make such changes. Also, not all Deppers qualify for a guaranteed Station of Choice option.

Too bad you didn't have the guts to post your Name, Rank and Unit, I'd loved to have reported you for violating TAIR (Total Army Involvement in Recruiting).

It's thanks to such wimps as you, that the Army suffers the bad reputation it does in some areas.

you cant jion as 11B, only 11X. its how the army works. btw you dont lose your bonus when you switch MOSs if you re-up. its just luck of the draw if you get 11B or 11C, just be glad for the good parts of 11C. you wont do as many dangerous missions as the Bravos do, that means you have a better chance of coming home in one piece. there are a lot of former B's that deployment just didnt work like that for...or would you prefer to tell their loved ones that they left behind that they had it better than you do, since you hate your job so much?
