Army Deployment question?

My husband is out in Afghanistan and the big rumor out there right now is that they might only have a 9 month deployment. He is with a unit that just got their 12 month changed to 9 months. And he said the new unit replacing my husbands unit is coming in Jan. (which is a lot earlier then they are supposed to leave, without saying any dates)

If one unit in the Army changes to 9 month is this an Army wide thing then?

Sure, deployment often change in time frames. Often, they're extended, do your husband's got it good.
