Army/Basic Training/Fort Jackson---Please Answer.?

So basically, me and this guy are waiting to start a relationship until he gets back. He got to Fort Jackson for Basic Training today. I believe its about ten weeks long. Then its followed by AIT training...he's going for something like heating and cooling.He's called a number of times from the airport, hotel, etc. Will he get phone calls at Fort Jackson? Do they allow cell phones? Has anyone that has been in Basic Training had time to write letters? Or is it rare ? He says he'll keep me close to his heart and that he's thinking about me.I'm crazy about the kid...do you guys think it will work out? We have these really special really rare feelings for each other and truly believe we are meant to be together.I just don't want to get my hopes up for nothing. Thank you ahead of time for replying to this.
One he's done with basic how long is AIT? Do they come home after AIT is finished? If so for how long?
 
my boyfriend is at fort sill but id say there almost the same. yes he gets his cell phone on sundays. he calls me every sunday morning as long as no one in his platoon gets in trouble. he also writes quite a bit. ive got atleast 2-3 letters every week since he left. he graduates in a week and a half and goes straight to ait where he will get to keep his phone. yes if you are really meant to be then it will work out. i was worried the same thing and it has actually brought us closer. but i guess the distance can either make u or break u. good luck : )
