My brother is currently attending his AIT at Ft. Lee VA. he bought a laptop because he would be allowed to use it off duty and the rumor was that they would be able to chip in for a wireless router for the company or platoon. turns out the rumor is false. He asked me to look into air cards for him but all the plans I found are 5 gigs max. He wanted to be able to use Ventrilo ( a lobby style voice over IP chat program) to talk to everybody back home and maybe catch up on some online gaming hes been missing out on. However with these data exchanges he would rack up a $500 bill in three days with an air card. Anybody with past experience find a solution to this or any suggestions? grad day of BCT every other private I saw was lugging a newly purchased laptop around so im sure this is a pretty common thing.
