Armpit Irritation

I've recently begun to have problems with my armpits, I have used the same antiperspirant deodorant for many years, and have recently started to get a clammy irritation from it.

I would spray my armpits and over the course of the day my armpits would become clammy with a sticky substance that smells strongly of the deodorant. I have tried several different antiperspirants, and washing my armpits up to twice a day, with much the same result. It's as if the deodorant just sprays onto my armpit, heats up then turns sticky. Although I do not smell, this is very disconcerting. The constant stickiness and discomfort causes me to fiddle with my armpits and make me feel self-conscious. I currently try to spray as little on as possible, although still experience the same result.

Has anyone got any ideas? Thank you.

It is possible your body is going through a chemical change. What is your age? Sounds like you are going to have to try a different deodorant. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but I am sure you will find something that you like. You may be able to switch back to your old deodorant after a time. Sincerely, searchin

I'm 28.

Could you give me anymore details on my body experiencing a chemical change?

I have tried several different deodorants all with the same result. That includes sprays and roll-ons. All leave me feeling tacky underarm.

A bit more information:

I'm not sure wet is a useful description. The sensation is more the sort of clammy, chaffing feeling when you exercise and your t-shirt rubs. My armpits feel damp and are warm, but dry to the touch. I have a few stretch marks on my armpits, do you think they could be getting irritated somehow? I checked them before and on one armpit a few of them were redder than usual - only on one armpit though.

Also, could this sort of irritation be a form of anxiety?I'm due to start a Masters degree course soon, and I have been worried about it. I've had trouble sleeping too.
