hello

thanks

Both Royal Logistic Corps and Royal Engineer Drivers do their specialist driver training at the Defence School of Transport in Leconfield, E. Yorks.

You would obviously have to do basic training first, then you would have to do secondary unit training, maybe transfer to another base for that. Or, they might have a special base for drivers and you will stay there for for the entire time called O.S.U.T.(One Station Unit Training.)

Everyone who joins the armed forces no matter what the job they're going to do, has to do basic and ongoing training unless they are a civvy driver.

Think about it, if your vehicle or convoy is attacked and you have no military training, then you are a liability, putting yourself and others in danger. Don't think the TA is an easy route either, as the TA receive the same training as the regulars which is why there are TA units in war zones at the moment
