UPSTATE NY -
CHARGE: 55 in 35 school zone. "using laser" at 1100 feet away from school zone.
QUESTION: Am i better off fighting this - or go to court and try to plead bargain?
SOME INFO:
* Cop pulls me over, i thought it was because i was doing 45 in what i thought was a 45mph zone - but evidently i passed thru a school zone - didn't realize school zone was valid at time of day (1 pm)...
* Cop replies "no - you were going between 50 and 55 mph in a school zone" ....if he used laser wouldn't he know the exact speed i was going? I had clear view of him - there was no laser. He also told me that he did not need laser due to his observation... ?? He put direct observation on ticket - and laser at 1100 feet. ?? But i don't believe he used laser and i was not doing 55. Lots of obstructions from where cop was sitting.
* I was .20 mile after school zone - in the 45 mph when he pulled me over.
I went back to take video because the distance after school zone where cop pulled me over is a ways from the actual school zone - and i really don't feel i can plead guilty to this particular charge. I was in a 45 mph zone -
