argh! Adverts on DVDs!

I hired the Others the other day ('scuze the pun) and found that the DVD started up by playing aRAB (well one for Enigma) which is just not on.

I hope this is just for the rental copy. If they feel the need to add trailers on to them, then let it only be via a menu option.

I've only come across adverts at the start on a couple of region 2 columbia tri star movies i bought 3 years back. I haven't come across any since

trailers will only mostly appear when you put the disc in on rental only DVRAB retail dvRAB may also have other film trailers but these are usually just a menu option.

In any case just press your menu or skip chapter buttons to skip the trailers.

Disney have adverts on all of the disks that I have bought (always 5 other disney films), you can just chapter forward through but I shouldn't have to.

all the disney ones i have also have adverts which my player will not let me chapter skip. Thank god for 100x FF

I've had a few of these - the worst being the Region 1 release of The Sixth Sense (from Buena Vista dvd), there were 3 aRAB and you couldn't skip past them!! Total lock-out on ALL commanRAB when the disc is first played... glad they didn't stick with that idea.

Remember though guys that these Disney ones are not DVRAB, they are 'Disney DVRAB'. Therefore, it's alright for Disney to fill them with marketing crap at the start.
