Aren't relationships "forbidden" between soldiers in the army? Stationed

overseas or in a fort in the States? My friend is soon to be shipped out either to a fort in the U.S. or possibly overseas through the army. She worries about her love life, but also knows that relationships can be started in the military. But on the exact opposite, all I ever hear is how strict the army is.

Isn't it "forbidden" to have any emotional or physical relationship to another soldier in the army, whether its a day your "on duty" anf go through the daily boot camps, or even on your "off days" where you can sit back, heal, and relax? I've been told by another female soldier who just got back from completing her contract in Afghanistan that being in the army is like being in the work force here in America, but with consequences of their own. If your caught doing something such as physical relations, you and the "partner in crime" can be dishonorably discharged. If your caught on or off base doing something such as holding hands with another soldier the same can happen.

So why is she saying this? Has her recruiter done what I imagine all recruiters do and only fill her in on the pros of the army and not the cons?

Also, if they are against sex, why do PXs (sorta like a grocery store of any army base) sell condoms?
