Are you not considered a loner if you choose that lifestyle?

i i like to be alone
im not forced to be alone like a loner i just want to be. Not all the time. I like being with one person, like for example talking to a girl thats next to my locker but going to the movies and stuff i dont do. I guess i dont like big groups.I never really leave my house i weekends. I feel bad because my friends invite to do stuff but i turn them down and they probably think im just avoiding them because i dont like them.

Well, yes you technically are a loner, but you've got the definition mixed up. "Loner" sounds like "loser" so children have started to use the the words interchangeably. If you like being alone, you're a loner, but you're not a loser for choosing this path. You are simply a loner by definition because you are alone. In fact, you're probably a lot stronger than everyone else for being so independent. Everyone else merging with the crowd is far too afraid to go off and do their own thing. You've got one up on them when you go off into the real world - you will face problems that your friends may not be able to help with. Really, once you learn how to be fully at peace with yourself and not concerned at all with what others think, there is no greater sense of freedom.

I'm the same way but im to nice so when people invite me i don't want them to think I don't like them so I just run with it. So no you are not considered a loner when you have friends to go out with and stuff you just live a quite lifestyle or calm or some word like that I can't find right now. =p
