Are You In A Band

once you start jammin, you'll get hooked. For the first couple years i played guitar it was just me and my friend on drums, which is alot better than just playin guitar by yourself. Then our bassist buddy moved into town and we hooked up with him, and we've been jammin ever since. Its a hell of a lot of fun.:band: we just need a robert plant to come along to cover vocals, thats our worst department at the time.

Hahaha. I dont even think background vocals would be a good idea for me, I'm not even Branson worthy. Now background dancing/snapping is another story. All Al Green would have to do is just say the word and I would be there.

AFTERMATH

I play drums in a thrash/death metal band called Auroch. I can't post a link yet but the myspace is in my sig. We used to be called Tusk (before discovering the Pelican side project) and used to play almost all Metallica covers... We probably have enough originals for a full album now after maybe two years of playing with our current lineup. We do a lot of local shows and whatnot. Opinions welcomed on the music but I can't guarantee I'll care.

I also used to play in a band that was basically an Alexisonfire ripoff, except with really weak clean vocals replacing the screamo. At the time it seemed like it was going places faster than my metal band, but as time went by I realized that the reason we named our songs after nurabers was because they all sounded the same and used recycled chorRAB and scales. I fully admit this band was utterly terrible and I am pretty erabarrassed to be associated with them (I have since fallen out in a major way with the guys in it) but the boringness of the riRAB inspired me to be somewhat creative with my drum beats and I think it was a good experience, if only to teach me what not to do. If you really, really, really want to listen to it, the band was called Blackout Ablaze and I think there are some clips on youtube.

chill out dude it was nothin against you, i was just stating something and if you take offense to it thats your fault. it wasnt even directed at you. You should try smokin pot sometime, it may help you settle down.

Yeah, but it was Nick, me and Jobe before it was Kyle and Ryan. IMO they don't work well together. None of them have a common ground to start from and Nick thinks that being grunge is the greatest. But he can't write good lyrics. They were described to me as Chevelle, Nirvana, and I think Atrayu mixed into one with a screaming singer.

Well I play in a pop/rock band...even though we're going more to rock type of playing for the last few months. I play the lead guitar and I'm also the singer of my band.
My band's name is Fatamorgana, which on English is "Mirage". We play in local pubs and caffes doing cover songs, but we've also played on few festivals in our country with our own compositions. Soon, we're planning to release our first album.

yeah i hear ya on the hassle of finding people and a place.

i'm living in a small town right now and the local scene is rooted in high school. even people from my generation (born in the 70s) are still holding fast to the ideals they had back in the early 90s. there's a small pool of musicians and the bulk of them have been playing together since grade 9 or so it seems.

unless of course you want to play connect the dot cheese rock with a bunch of middle aged boomers who just want to play the same tired stones / led zep covers.

i count myself lucky with having 1 guy i know i can count on when it comes to doing my thing in relation to music. i have a few others who'll always say 'yes' but when push comes to shove it's clear that we're on different pages.

me and a friend of mine started a band called First Man Down.
We've been working on covers, as well as a couple of our own songs.
We play metalcore, close to Haste the day.
Right now i play drums/back up vocals, and my friend plays lead guitar, but he wants to play keyboard, and we have another guitarist, and bass. right now we dont have a legit singer, but were looking :)

im in a hardcore band call drag me to hell. yeah i no its a movie but we came up with the name first lol. check us out at myspace are quality aint that great but were poor so deal with it

Haha awesome.

I too was in a band for about two weeks but, I just stopped going to practice and that was the end of that. I'm trying to get a cheap acoustic-electric and do a Flying Saucer Attack sort of thing... acoustic with echo over droning electric guitars.
