Are you for a Constitutional Amendment banning burning the flag?

I was more talking about respect in general. For me - having been in the milatary does not automatically win my respect. Nothing does. I guess I take a more wholistic approach.

For those efforts, you and other "compassionate" conservatives like Maximus, JP and the VoR have called me a welfare queen (even though I spent a few months on it), have told me my family isn't as good as theirs because we don't match the Cleavers, and now you imply I am just trampy and really didn't want my kid. And you wonder why I don't embrace your politics?

It's amazing how people use the emotional comparison to Nazis when it doesn't even come close to applying...and the age old tactic of saying "you're just wrong (because I say so)" just doesn't hold water. Try coming up with facts and backup instead of relying on emotional ploys and smugness.
 
How many WWII vets do you think are left? And if there, they are too old to do any butt kicking. That was the last time anybody defended ths country. AFIK, those organizations are made up entirely of 80 yr old men and REMFs who didn't have what it took to face the enemy anyway. I don't think the anybody has anything to fear from those folks.

Everyone has an equal right "to be heard". It's called freedom of speech. Giving someone more right that someone else is going directly agaisnt the principles of freedom of speech.

Its true liberals and people from the left burn the flag but they are not the only ones that do it..........Mixed in with those groups at the "Hate America" rallys are Socialists, Communists, Subversives and other groups that want to take this country down.............

The problem is the "Feel Good" liberals are not smart enough to see how they are being used..........
 
The only people that would make that comparison are and actual Nazi or a socialist left wing liberal and if the amendment passes that means that it will pass by a huge majority so you left wing socialists will be in the minority...........

So Cuba is still and option for you........
 
No-one wants to burn the stupid flag.

People just want to have the right to.

No guy wants an abortion.

Guys just want the right for a woman to have one.

You can support the legality to do something, without wanting to do the actual action.

Also, why would I want to buy, what to me is a piece of cloth, to burn it? That's a complete waste of money and I don't support others doing it, I just respect their right to do it.

Then agian you haven't denied being willing to comit genocide to save a flag.;)

The Flag is a symbol.
I do not know of any men who died defending a flag, because most men die defending themselves, homes, ideology and loved ones.
Soldiers do not give their lives in wars, but those lives are taken from them.
 
Its fruitless to argue or try and enlighten people who are blinded buy de fuhers eyes. there is plenty of information to anyone who looks for it or pays attention to things.
 
Right. And because Socialists and Communists do it, it should be outlawed.

Here's a hint - when Communists and Socialists burn flags, it makes them look bad. Let these extremists hinder their own cause by making people angry at them by burning flags. Then these crazies are less of a threat. But don't legislate good protest tactics for them - that is the stupidest imaginable thing to do.
 
Feinstein is also a staunch supporter of gun control, even though she personally carries a concealed weapon. You need to consider the startling fact that what politicians say, all politicians, is normally what the public wants to hear, not how they intend to act.
 
I don't like Bush. I've made that clear in numerous threaRAB. Anyone on these boarRAB will tell you the same.
