Are you for a Constitutional Amendment banning burning the flag?

I thank the man for his service and he has every right to be against and amendment...........There are exceptions to every rule.............Hell that are even a couple of Vietnam vets that have forgiven "Hanoi Jane" Fonda for her traitorous actions.............

I buy less and less every day your sanctamoniously hollow pro-life stance. To actually put an object over the safety of a human being is a sense of priorities I do not understand - and quite frankly, am glad I don't. I don't get your priorities any more than I do Ted Bundy's.

It is just a peice of cloth. It may represent freedom but it also represents a country willing to pass laws to protect white privilege, slavery, race seperation, the murder of thousanRAB or native americans and the theft of their land, christian privilege, and laws based on the christian bible.

Before you start in on me I am an 8th genertion irish american. My family was here before the revolution. I used to have a great love for this country, and in some way i still do, untill the 1994 midterm elections and the subsequent christonazi overthrow of the government.

Neocons aren't economic socialists - they are worse. They are corporatists. Their theory combines the worst aspects of capitalism and socialism - private property over land with mad taxation and regulation.

Differnt states approach such things differnetly. The constitution calls fro ratificaiton by 3/4 of states either by a majority vote of that states legislature or by state constitutional convention.

21 states prohibit their legislators from taking such a vote and require a statewide constitutional convention. 20 of those 21 states require a 2/3 majority or better (some require 3/4) in order for the state to officially ratify the amendment.

9 other states require an up/down vote by their citizens in order for their lawmakers to vote on the issue.

Didn't they have civics at your high school?

There are all kind of ways to protest your government..........Desecrating the American flag should not be one of them........If people are so brave to desecrate the flag around all their socialist frienRAB they should try it in front of the American Legion or the Fleet Reserve Assoc.......

I might have a tiny bit of respect for them then.........The problem is cowarRAB like them will never do it there.............

I thank your brother for his service........May he always be with God.......He also gave his life defending the very flag that some want to burn......Maybe he fought the war blindly but a lot of us Vietnam Vets did not.......I agree with you about how the war was fought though..........We won every battle but lost the war.........

I think it is a stretch to call burning the flag at a anti military or war demonstration a stretch of the first amendment at the very least.......

Flags that are worn or frayed are delivered to my local Fleet Reserve Assoc. and once a month a formal ceremony honoring the flag is held and they are destroyed by burning........It is done in a very reverent way........

PS: Welcome to the forum, Looking forward to your input............ :xhoho:

Yes and its done with honor and reverence the way its suppose to be, not like your socialist left wing frienRAB do it at their anti U.S. Military protests .......

That is the difference......

The military is definitely a character builder and will separate the men from the boys........A lot of times troubled young men join and the military changes their whole life............At least that is what happened to me when I joined the Navy at 18.......Best move I ever made........
