Are you for a Constitutional Amendment banning burning the flag?

I thank you for your service..........Hopefully as you grow older you will learn that the American Flag is not just a piece of cloth to be desecrated by people that hate our military, this country and our way of life......At least I did........

Thanks for your service, Truthsayer. :xgood:

When it comes down to the fact that you are willing to die for me, then I will take note of what you have to say. Whether I accept it or not; whether you are a fine individual or not; or whether or not you actually care about what I think, I at least should give you the right to speak your mind.

But, that's just the way I am - sort of like that scorpion that took a ride across the river on the frog's back.

I have never called you a wefare queen. I am NOTa Republican. I do give a damn about all of God's creation, do you? I am proud that you have found a measure of success in your life, now you should try to attain a measure of contentment by seeking God's will for the knowledge of what his will is for your life. You seem like a female who is consumed with penis envy. Get your head out of your rectum and develope a realistic view of God's devine plan for the ages.

Not just the forum, the general American public was in protest of the 'contribution' our military was making in Vietnam. While I well understand camaraderie between lifer military members and some of those who served, don't try shoving it down my throat or that of the general public of that era. It was purely our political aggression that killed 50,000+ Americans and millions of Vietnamese, under the same BS circumstances we're killing Americans and Iraqis. I was as ashamed of that crime as I am this one or Panama or several other 'conflicts' I can name. Many of the posters here aren't stupid enough to call naked aggression a contribution. Leave it at the VFW Hall. You had a job, you did it. Don't confuse it with patriotism or a flag.

Then you clearly don't understand what you are talking about. I suggest you go and run to ask your father and grandfather what really happened. A 14 year old like you shouldn't be reciting what they didn't say.

That is and easy one.......I can tell how you think by your liberal left wing posts

This thread is about flag burning, but gays asking to marry is a special right is is a straight man wanting to marry 2 women........

exactly what the terrorists want...........Liberals wanting Nam all over........Thankfully we have a President that will never do that.......

I'm not saying that those who burn the flag don't hate the country, but the fact you put military/US implies they might be against militarism and the current administration, not America itself.
The point is believing in the right to do something does not equal doing it. I support peoples right to eat liver. i don't like it myself. But I support their right. Similarly I believe people have the right to be gay, but I am not gay.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that if this amendment passes, flag burning will go up. People will want to protest this evil law. They will even seek ways to get around the law in protesting it, such as burning flags only slightly different from the American flag. They would get a bunch of flags each missing a star, take to the streets, and burn the flags in protest. This measure can only backfire.

1. Can you cite a link for Senator Feinstein's updated opinion of the PA? Thanks........

2. How quickly you dismiss the attack on the USS COLE where we lost close to 30 men........

3. It is a stretch to call a physical act freedom of speech.........

Apparently sarcasm escapes you...not surprising, it has plenty of company (anything else that required thought seems to fly right by you).

When I said you were essentially a noncom I used it in the contxt of referring to the likelyhood of you actually fighting for anything. I know you were not a noncom (because a noncom cannot be an REMF puke, and we all know you are certainly an REMF puke). I was simply alluding to the fact that you were NOT a combat soldier, essentially alling your role a civilian role (in fact, in the current war, most of your duties are being carried out by civilian contractors).

Noncom, while meant as a slight, is probably not a good slight, since in reality noncoms were out in the field where the war was going on, not on a secured supply ship.

Becuase both places are generally filled with old men and losers who are trying to relive their REMF glory days. Old men have interesting stories. The other are just tiring.

As I said before, I am generally not afraid of clerks and mechanics. Your constant "go down to local american legion and burn the flag blah blah blah" is idiotic.

As I have said at least a half dozen times now, I have no problem with people who serve in support roles. The problem I have is with people who served in support roles and then feel compelled to bore the rest of us with rediculous claims that they "fought" for anything. Fighting is a physical action, in the military, it generally involves a weapon. For you to argue about the intentions or feeling of compat troops is rediculous because you were not one. I don't care how many cases of ammo you handed out or how many hours per day you worked.

If you were truly proud of your military career, you would not feel compelled to embellish it.

I know exactly what military life is like. I was not foolish enough to have children while in the military (kiRAB really don't need to be put through that), but to each their own I suppose. I have not put anybody down for serving in a support role, nor have I ever. You reach the status of REMF by workign a supprot role and then talking abtout hings like "fighting for old glory" or "figthing for your country", when we all know damn well you didn't fight.

It is amazing how the left uses the first amendment to justify all kinRAB of free speech when it was first instituted it was for actual Speech........Now it has been twisted around for all kinRAB of outladndish things that have nothing to do with free speech.........

People were defending this country, this last sentence is just horrible. You don't like it here get out? 5 minutes later you talk of how great this country is because it allows us to disagree with it peacefully. Every time you attempt to infringe on a basic right such as the right to peacefully disagree with the government like this, you take away value from the flag itself and the people who fought for it. A symbol is not only what it is, but a symbol for what it represents. The flag represents America and its ideals. As you infringe on each right in the country, you take away value from the flag itself. And you call yourself a patriot.

Yes but the mean well left and liberals are mixed in with them.........I can remember before the war there were prostests in SF shown on CSPAN........The problem was most of the speakers at these protests did not even talk about the war in Iraq..............All they did was promote their own subversive issues......

While I certainly don't like it and would exercise my First Amendment rights to discuss their lineage:xcensored , hoping to evoke a response, I don't favor a constitutional amendment banning flag burning.
