I am in the process of applying to grad school for architecture. I don't really know any architects and I'm not in the same city where I went to undergrad anymore so I don't really have any instructors to ask. I need advice on writing the essay and statement of intent:
Autobiographical essay - An outline, in narrative form that documents significant experiences in your life. Include environmental and design interests and opportunities, travel and work. These written pieces should be kept to no more than two single-spaced typed pages each.
Statement of Intent - Describe your intent with respect to the study and practice of architecture/interior architecture.
This statement is of particular importance as an indication of an applicant’s interests, perceived abilities, and commitment to goals.
I don't know where to start for the essay, or even what to focus on. Any help would be amazing! Also if you know of any places to professionally print and bind my portfolio. I know of blurb, shutterfly, and kodak gallery, but none of them do 8.5x11, which I need. (Kinko's is not an option and I can't seem to find local printers that do "perfect binding" (like a book/magazine)
Thanks!
