Are you "American"

Yes but I don't consider myself British. I pretty much want Scotland to separate from the rest of UK and become an Independent Republic.

That is why I don't consider myself British.

1) I beg to differ - some americans are more critical of their country than foreigners...just take a look at the New York times. That is a generalisation that does not stand up to scrutiny.

2) About the french bashing....come on...is there any country where french bashing is not practised ? Its what makes the world go round !

that is not a comment, that is a fact. Read 'The New Yorker' issue of last week and inform yourself before you bark.

The torture and abuse of prisoners by te 'warriors' in Iraq was widely covered (and it included pictures) in the American media. so if you deny it you are then lying.

Really, I wonder what your reaction would have been if planes had crashed into skyscrapers in Frankfurt?

No, you may think you are exempted but you are not... anyway you will never know till you have been attacked !

A majority of discussions involving criticism are topics that examine current US administration and policies. Many supporters of US administration and policy seem to rely on emotional nationalism with ideology as a basis rather than rational analysis.

The US has a citizenship principle based on place of birth. If you are born inside the US borders, you are automaticly granted US citizenship. If you are born outside US borders, by parents who are US citizens, I think you need to apply for US citizenship, and surrender your other citizenship (I`m not sure though).

Other countries base their citizenship on lineage. If you are born by Swedish parents for example, you are automaticly a swedish citizen. But you do not become one just because you are born inside swedish borders.

This leaRAB to a situation where someone can give birth to a child on US soil without being a US citizen themselves. If they hail from a country with citizenship based on lineage, that child will have a dual citizenship.

Hmm.. did it make any sense?

Edit: clarifications

Thought it got bombed a couple of times? New we fire bombed it but wasn't sure if that was the first time, or a later event.
Originally heard it was intentional and part of a plan to save the airfielRAB - but then heard it was really an accident, just seems a little too convient to plan something like that.

Winston, do you have one or two "outlaws" in your country, or are all the people in OZ either all good or all bad? Even though you're spreading egg all over your face in my favor, I'd encourage you to think about that before you keep this little hissyfit up.

i can live with it, no one has even insulted the Irish yet. Perhaps living in a country where people were willing to kill over percieved differences in culture has lowered my tolerance for such idiocy.

until that day happens I am exempted. Remember the bombing of Dresden? Still, most Germans forgive the Allies. What a difference ah!

Just like the yanks in Iraq, they let the Australians and British do the dirty work and then they rolled in and now what? They are all bunkered in the green zone like rats in a cage.
