I have the opportunity to purchase a Motorola Droid from a friend of mine. I know its a really cool phone and I love its features. The problem is I'm still on my family's plan and my dad refuses to get data and since I'm in college, I can't afford my own plan right now.
If I get the Droid, is there anyway I can activate it without the data plan? I heard there's a sim card hack out there for it where it'll work on just regular signal.
Just a note, I'm not going to be stealing any signal or internet from verizon. I have no interest in the data, Wifi's just fine. I intend to legally purchase this phone and to receive the same amount of minutes and texts as I have now, NO DATA. I just want a way to make sure the phone will work without the data plan before I buy it
Sorry, for some reason I said Sim card. I meant to say thats I hear theres a way to format the Micro SD card so it will let the phone run on a regular plan.
