are wire nuts okay for a car stereo?

I'm going to put a new head unit into my 2000 ford ranger. i have no experience soldering or crimping wires. so I'm hoping i can do it with wire nuts. i've read that wire nuts can sometimes come off from the vibration. so should i maybe tape over the whole thing once the wire nut is on?
