In NYC, recently I was pulled over by police for biking on the sidewalk. The officer asked for my ID. It just so happened I had it on me. I showed it to her and she came back with it plus a summons. But what if I did not have any ID on me? Would they detain me? Are we required to carry ID when biking or cycling in New York City?
