Are we picking back up on animation?

That's easier said than done. Original animated programs can't be "grinded out" like hamburger meat, you know. Quality programming takes several years to develop. Besides, what led you to believe that Disney's animated concepts aren't successful?

I guess he means ones that aren't based on old fairy tales. In my opinion, the only help Disney needs is with their TV animation, which is pretty bland.

I never implied that Disney's animated concepts weren't successful. I do really love some of Disney's classics and believe they're well-written, but a great majority of them are adaptions of stories that Walt Disney himself didn't even create at all and that's why I would like for the mouse house to conjure up more original concepts of their own, preferably animated.

Actually the silver age was the 80's. Then there was a dark age for a few years. Then the Brozne Age in mid 90's which started with Batman:TAS, Gargoyles and X-men:TAS which lasted to 2007 with the cancalation of JLU.

I'm sorry, none of the cartoons you mentioned can hold a candle to golden age or even silver/bronze for that matter. I doubt very many people will be talking about them in 10 years. No if anything todays toons that people will remember will more likely be toons like Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, Avatar and Spectacular Spiderman. As far as shorts go I'm not sure, perhaps Invader Zim and Ren & Stimpy...The TAS superhero shows maybe, but other than that I really haven't seen anything ground breaking. Chowder is all the buzz right now, but it doesn't transcend the gender gap, in other words, I don't hear about adults my age watching it like some of the aforementioned shows.

(No offense to you Chowder fans).

Again, that is a matter of opinion.

Perhaps, but time tends to bury all memories. If you haven’t noticed, Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny aren’t exactly household names anymore; their numerous colleagues over the years are even more forgotten. Do you really believe that people sit around the house discussing Foghorn Leghorn? When compared to SpongeBob SquarePants, the classic characters have fallen quite far in terms of popularity, and barring a successful resurrection, their popularity will continue to dwindle. They will always be remembered, to be sure, but the point is that future generations will look back and have different opinions on the classics than we have.

I have nothing against the classics, but I find the belief that they are inherently better than anything contemporary to be a flawed belief. Quality is subjective.

And there are others who disagree with you entirely, just as you disagreed with Infusions. Thus, nothing is proven.

I believe that people need to take a step back and examine things from a neutral perspective.
