Historically speaking the end of a civilization has always been preceeded by one or more of the following cultural events;
-A collapse of the recognized political body either from corruption or over-expansion
-A collapse of the nations economy either through a catastrophic event, devaluation on a global scale or disintegration of the trade routes.
-Military expansion outstripping the ability of the government to supply its needs
-Cultural upheavel caused by a change in ideological changes.
All of these things can be found in some degree (some greater than others) within America today, so does that mean we are living in the twilight of our nation as we speak?
