Are we as consumers already paying for climate change propaganda?

I recently bought a jar of Peter Pan peanut butter. The jar size has been downsized from 18 to 16 oz. with a new label on top that reads, “New Earth Friendly Jar * Now 9% less plastic per ounce”. So I am paying the same amount for a smaller jar to save plastic in a landfill ?

Yep, it' called marketing to green earth morons who make up a big block of voters. Corporate America seems easily persuaded to please what they consider real issues i.e. the following companies caved in to the radical black group 'Color Change' and pulled advertising from the Glen Beck show. Sargento Cheese GEICO Progressive Insurance State Farm Men's Wearhouse S.C. Johnson Procter & Gamble Lawyers.com .........so now I don't support them!

Good logic and great scapegoat! Is that why there is less cereal in the cereal box too? Something to do with landfill and nothing to do with greed and profit?

I believe the whole climate change issue is being completely over hyped on the consumer level. gasoline cars and penut butter jars aren't the main reason behind climate change. It is because of the industrialization of major countries from the 1800's to the present day. It is large factories with no air pollution standards that is the main culprit. Obviously cars and manufactered goods have some impact but it is much lesser than other co2 producers. Companies are trying to guilt trip people into buying eco-friendly products for more money ("green" cars for example) by saying that driving gasoline cars are causing irreversable effects to the enviroment. and as far as the penut butter gos, i am glad you realize that people are giving people less for more now and absolutley using climate change as propaganda.

Companies downsize to save money.Instead of charging more which consumers notice right away they give you less for the same price.Have you noticed tuna cans are now 5oz. instead of 6oz? Thomas' bagels are now 20 0z.,they used to be 22oz

You're paying the same amount for less so your capitalist corporate buddies can turn a bigger profit.
Using less plastic means spending less money on material.
Your corporate buddies are gouging you and you want to blame Al Gore.
