Are Urine Particles Harmful?

Hi, this question is a bit odd, but please take it seriously.

During my night time routine, I often urinate while brushing my teeth. I told my girlfriend this and she calls it disgusting. She claims that particles from my urine can travel up to six feet and enter my open mouth and "get me sick." I told her that this is ridiculous, that airborne germs of this variety rarely cause disease, and that the amount of particles (if these particles even exist) just isn't enough to get me sick.

I've never been sick or felt that I've been negatively affected by this. Does anyone have more knowledge about this? My girlfriend is threatening to never kiss me again :p

Thanks in advance!

Healthy urine is sterile when it comes out. It contains no germs or toxins, but being a warm bodily fluid, it can easily become contaminated through contact with skin, unclean surfaces, and germs will breed quickly in it. I think you (and your GF) are safe from diseases in this instance.

Is your life that busy that you can't urinate before or after brushing your teeth?! I can see why she thinks its unhygienic, even if you don't get mini splashes in your mouth, you're using the same hands for both actions without washing in between.
