Are Toyota MR2 Spyders supposed to be inexpensive...what's the catch?

I've been conducting research of what car I want next. Most definitely, I want my next car to be in manual transmission. So instead, I came across this Toyota MR2 spyder with about 48,000 miles on it. There were 4 and the prices came out to...11,000 6,000 8,400 7,800.

The mechanics already inspected the engine and the specifications a week prior and they gave it a green light. I understand that it could be a bit pricey overall because of the fact that its a roadster and it would increase my insurance premiums. However, it's great on mileage, conserves gas, and very fun to drive. I'm sure that this car attracts and caters more to the younger crowd instead of the typical family man due to its lack of space. Probably the only downfall to it.
