Are these valid or petty reasons for breaking up: poor speller/speaker, acting

clueless during conversations? When out with a group of people, or simply just a conversation between the two of us my ex would always take longer than the average person to understand what was going on and comment. And he cannot spell very good, nor speak very intelligently all the time. These things didn't happen in every instance, but often enough for me to feel like they were deal-breakers. Any advice on whether you think these are petty or valid reasons?? Besides these things, he is the most amazing perfect man I have ever met...

Well the way I see it is, If you're looking for a reason not to be with someone, you're always going to find one. Maybe you are looking for a problem because he is perfect in every other way and you're thinking there MUST be something wrong with him.

But, if his mind is not compatible with yours then maybe you do not match up and you need someone who can stimulate your mind.
 
Sounds like he has a learning disability. Not his fault.

Would be a deal breaker for me if he had other great traits.
