Are there any untidy gardens in your area?

There always seems to be one that spoils it for the rest of the place, well actually in my case there's more than one! Why do people not bother about their gardens? As I speak there's some of them that haven't been bothered about in years, overgrown lawns, hedges that are out of control and weeds that are making the upkeep of my own difficult as they grow into my garden, if that was my garden I'd be embarrassed and it makes the area look like an eyesore, isn't there anything that can be done to make them upkeep their gardens? xxxx

there is loads.i just don't get it.when i moved into my old house,i waited for the council to give me the first cut.hedges and grass.which i was entitled to.then i got a letter threatening me with eviction, for not keeping my garden clean and tidy.i was only in the house 3 weeks.now i see gardens everywhere that look like a bomb site.and nobody gives a $hit.

Both my neighbours on the right-handside of us have very messy gardens. The front is ok as i mow their lawns out of frustration but the back of their gardens is a mess. One has literally a household of furniture in her back garden and the other has such long grass that you cannot even cut it with a weed-eater, i know i have tried. One is privately owned and the other is a council house. Such a shame when everybody else wants the fronts and the backs of their gardens to look lovely. I agree with you, it is embarrassing when i get visitors from SA and they ask me if anybody lives there.:)

yes there is , it's mine, and no i'm not embarrassed, I quite like the wild look, but more importantly I love to see how much it irks my irritating noses in the air neighbours next door.

They're a bugger aren't they! You can actually complain to your local council who can enforce that they tidy them up. If they are an eyesore and make it difficult for you to keep weeds out of your own garden, your neighbours can be told to tidy up or face court.
