warrantless dog hit rates? When a cop uses a dog to search the outside of your vehicle without a warrant, are there any type of logs or records kept as to the success/failure rates that can be subpoenaed? I read somewhere that there were records kept.
I basically want to know if any measures are in place for a lawyer to call out of a cop with an unsavory hit ratio, such as bringing the dogs to the scene 200+ times and getting a hit every single time.
Does this have anything to do with the judicial review that occurs with police dogs or is this separate?
Basically I want to know what preventative measures are in place to prevent the abuse of officers gaining probable cause via misinterpreting the dogs actions and searching, if any?
