Are there any real deal bestsellers free for ereaders or is it all Indie books or gutenburg project?

Are there any free ereader books that are current bestsellers? Not Amazon Bestsellers but real Bestsellers. Yes I know there are lots of public domain classics.
I have waded through a lot of free indie stuff on amazon and frankly there is a lot of cr@p out there.
Is it just me or is there mostly a lot of junk for free?
( Am a Ken Follett or John Grisham type reader.)
