Are there any plans for The Ring 3?

Quite a nerve racking horror franchise

I've heard on and off for about 4/5 years they are. It was gonna have naomi watts. Then it changed she wasn't as she declined. Then i heard It was gonna be in 3D and be like a reboot with new characters.

Yeah, ring 2 was awful, but it did better then the first
