Are there any Movie magazines?

Do, it's wonderful and make your own mind up about Sight & Sound.

It's a well written magazine, it's more on the film theory side and more towarRAB the foreign/art house scene, nothing wrong with that. Compared to magazines like Total Film, it reminRAB me of one way we were taught to view films during my film studies, and I like that.

Nothing pseudo intellectual about it at all.

I did film studies too, which is where I learned to hate the pretentious, meaningless twaddle that these types peddle. That they spout cobblers is one thing, our species is more than prone to such things after all said and done, but to wrap it all up with such dripping superciliousness and self-proclaimed superiority is what makes me want to punch them repeatedly in the face. Dreadful, dreadful people who should be removed from the gene-pool, forthwith. WorRAB fail me as to just how much I hate, loath and despise them.

We had a teacher like the above, we had a good teacher for the first year, and then we got this idiot who thought he was superior to everyone when it came to film/art.

I don't get most of what you feel from the magazine. Bit melodramatic over a magazine... :p

I prefer it to magazines like Total Film that are aimed at men and seem to forget sometimes there are women film fans out there..., plus the stupid pages at the end full of advertising of sex chat lines, or whatever the crap is.

Know what I'd rather spend my money on, even if I disagree with most of their reviews.

I had to do a double-take when I read this post.

Empire has dumbed down considerably in the last few years. I used to subscribe when it didn't pander to the big studio blockbusters, but it began to develop a fascination for big-budget movies and to ignore the often better smaller movies.

Total Film also pandered to the same movies, but they made no pretnce about that when they launched.

Just wondering, is there any big features in the latest total film (or other mags) about The Time traveler's wife. I really want to see this film and you guys are helpful when it comes to questions.

thank you.

Not being rude, but why don't you have a look at the magazines in the shop, they all have contents and you can easily see if they have a good bit on a film you are interested in. Then you can judge if it's worth buying or not.

Only if there is a special gift(calenders, free poster etc), but most of the time Total Film, Empire, Sight and Sound etc are all open, unless your shop gets them all wrapped for some insane reason.
